Free float with A2

Get a carbine length rail and you're good to go.

Be advised that there's considerable difference in free-float designs. Some you have to take the front sight and barrel nut off to install, some all you need to do is remove the handguards and install.

The less expensive it is, the more likely you have to remove more parts.

I am not inn combat or do I compete 250 plus tax and shipping is about 200 more than I wanted to spend. I guess a regular hand guard will have to do.
thx for the replies.

If all you want to do is free float the barrel than a simple tube will do. Quite a few of them out there for less than a hundred bucks. If you prefer a rail then I believe that Midwest Industries makes some more affordable ones. Regardless you most likely have to remove the FSB like has been mentioned in order to install it.
