I have the opportunity to buy a stock for 10/22 which I like a lot, but it is designed to have a barrel free floating. I have read in the sticky post that 10/22 does not do well with a free floating barrel. I am looking for opinions, because I really like the stock.

Get a Modified V Block to help take the load and you will be fine...

Has worked for me on all my 10/22 builds

Many have free floated barrels and disagree with the notion that it is not suitable on the 10/22. It may vary greatly depending on the fit of your barrel to the receiver. On mine at least, the aftermarket barrel was a very tight fit in the receiver and I have no doubt its position with respect to the receiver remains consistent.

ya.....adjustable V block will help but with that type of stock (especially a free floating barrel) make sure your receiver is well bedded.
If not, your accuracy and consistency will basically be nil. :(

Good luck!

my Tactical Solutions 16.5" barrel is free floated on my nordic stock. Not a single issue.

Do you use your nordic for rapid shots on a zombie target at 30 yards or center punching at 100 yards from sandbags?

You'll see a big difference from the latter with your set up as far as groupings & consistency goes......;)
