I have been looking for info regarding installing a free floating handguard on a Norc M4. There are lots of nice pictures of them, but no details on the installation itself (that I can find). I assume they use some sort of mount at the breech end of the barrel that the handguard clamps to, correct? Does the mount replace the delta ring?

Can anyone point me to some pics or videos of the installation process? Do the same fitment issues arise with FF guards as the Magpul handguards?

Thanks,
Mark

I had a Midway on a Norc - easy to install, remove the handguards, cut the Delta Ring and spring and C clip off, assemble the rail per the instructions. Took about 20 minutes tops. The Delta Ring cuts off nice and clean with a Dremel using a carbide cutting wheel. The kit comes with an allen wrench and loc tite and the instructions were simple. One thing I did do just to ensure the rail was centred was to clamp the carry handle between the upper and the rail, just to hold it in line. Other than that, too easy.

Thanks for the tip, that is a great idea.

the Norinco's are pretty finicky when it comes to free float rails.. I know for certain that the TROY VTAC works on them with no issues, and they are easy to install.. this is the one i recently did on a 10.5" Norinco with a VTAC 11"...it just tightens right down on the D-ring
