Well after posting my Hunting boots thread,... and getting some feedback, both on the thread and in PM's and from reading other threads,..I have been a bit, well, humbled (?)

Not everyone has the money to buy a decent pair of boots,... not cause they are lazy or cheap,..but because they have three kids,..they work like a slave for a slaves wage,...or whatever.

If you have the money to drink a dozen beer every weekend , you have the money for boots,..if you own a new quad, just got back from a European vacation, etc...you can afford new boots,.. so you guys, please don't take advantage of this.

I am offering a free pair of good new boots to someone who really needs them, but they're out of reach.. Drop me a PM by Sunday August 2nd...5 pm deadline.., tell me the kind of hunting you need them for, and we'll take care of the rest.

I'm gonna take all names that I get in the PM and draw one,..
They will get a new pair of Irish Setter, Danner, or similar quality boots delivered in September to their door.

We believe in looking out for one another, especially those of us who are doing the right things, just coming up a little short through no fault of their own.

If any CGNer would like to throw in towards the boots, drop me a PM and we will do an EMT once the name has been drawn and we can have a side discussion on the boots to purchase once the name has been drawn.

I would prefer that only the people who have thrown in, and the recipient be aware of who got the boots.

Either way, with or without anyone else throwing in, someone who deserves it will be getting a good pair of new boots come september.

Well i am having great response in PM's...
To the boots a donation of two high quality pairs of socks have been also donated.

Please contact me by PM if you wish to donate so i can send you the details and get you in on the discussion.

Great job guys...

Yup. I have 2 kids and work my arse off on 3 jobs and its hard sometimes. I d like to contribute some of our family's title money for this too. PM me when your ready

Make that 8...

And something to think about...

I received a PM froma guy who said he could really do with the boots,.. but thought there might be people more deserving,..he offered a $10 donation anyhow, cause it thought it was a ggod thing to do...

After a quick PM exchange, he has donated $10 and also has his name in the draw..

Now that's kinda stuff I'm talking about...

This guy could use the boots, but is also going to donate...:)

a great example that there are still people with the right foundation..

Make that 10 donators, and the first donation has already been recived in hand... good on you guys !!!

You have til Sunday at 5 pm to get your name in for the draw, ... Sunday at 6 pm I will be forwarding the winners name, and hunting style and terrain to the donators. In turn, they will each respond with a boot suggestion.

These boot suggestions will be posted as a poll, asking the CGN'ers to pick which boot they believe is the best, and best suited to the hunting and terrain of the winner. The winners name will not be posted. ( if he or she wishes to do so, they can) At the end of the 5 days, (Friday) the poll winning boot will be purchased and sent to the winner !!!!

EMT, MO or Cash all accepted, please PM for the details...

Thanks

just a suggestion but maybe try one of the retailers and see if you can get them at cost or possibly a donation in exchange for some publicity on CGN

the recipient gets...

A pair of high quality hunting boots...two pair high quality hunting socks..
4 DVD set of some amazing hunting...One hand made duck call...one brand new Remington Hunters knife with sheath (looks like a damn nice knife)''....

You can count me in on a donation for the boots, I think there were a few of us that couldn't afford a decent pair of boots when we started out, so good on you for taking this on.

I'll pitch in. this is a good thing!

Sealhunter, can you please tell me if all this gear is going to one lucky hunter, or are we going to break it up and let it benefit several that aren't as fortunate?

What a wonderful thing your doing!

I could sure use a set of good hunting boots but money is tight on my end having lost my job and all. Times are tough, no doubt about that!

But I am sure there are more deserving people then myself, but if you would like to throw my name in the hat I would be greatful :)
