Mods, feel free to move this to one of the EE forums if necessary. I just thought it might be good in the reloading forum since it's basically for smelting lead.
We imported a bunch of forklifts that had steel propane tanks on them that we can't used in Canada. I punched two holes in the top of one of them....obviously empty.....and blew compressed air through it for half an hour.
I then cut the top off of it to make a fairly heavy smelting pot. The base rings on these are a little wider than your standard North American 20lb tank, so they'll stand up pretty well.
If any of my fellow bullet casters live in/around the area of Oakville Ontario want one, let me know and I'll set you up. I'll be out of town until March 5th though.
BIG NOTE: You will NEVER get one of these filled with propane in Canada, so don't even think about it
