I keep pretty good load notes and just noticed a .006" difference in cartridge OAL...longer. So I checked numerous times with different bullets using a bullet comparator for all measurements. The repeatability was good but the question is why this longer OAL??? I am loading to the lands.
I've noticed this variation in another caliber as well, are the cheap digital calipers in question? Or how many rounds down the pipe might be expected for a change of .006"? Could my rifling be eroding for this noticeable increase in OAL? Different lot of bullet?
