I found myself purchasing one of these guns. Just made it to the range with it in tow. I had Thompson Center Pro Hunter along for the ride. This F/A makes the T/C seem like a Russian Lada compared to a Lexus. The Freedom Arms is a beauty, piece of artwork in metal basically. Everything works so well. Just thought I would share the experience.

I made a post, seems gone.

I am torn, I want the F/A M97 to complete my set. But I really want this as well

M2008 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Such bad problems to have.

Trouble is I would need to send gun/trigger assembly back to US to have fitted. Not crazy expensive $450 US but lots of time without gun. And paperwork etc.

EDIT: I bought. Win270 (T/C) as I’m cheap and it seems this caliber is similar to 6.5, poor man’s 6.5 haha.

Your LOC says "Atlantic canada"...

Years ago, I joined IHMSA. I was excited about it, and I thought that metallic silouette with a handgun would be an excellent 'gateway' sport for new people and Fudds who were uncomfortable with the IPSC target. I'd hoped to start matches locally, but I soon learned that there was virtually no interest (in joining IHMSA). I never did shoot an IHMSA match, and eventually I let my membership lapse. I've always wanted to hunt with a handgun, legally, but I haven't done it yet.

Is metallic silouette a thing where you live? Do you travel for it? Do you travel for handgun hunting?

IHNSA was a big thing in the west in the 80's and part of the 90's, then when the Canadian directorship was appointed to Ontario, everything stopped in the rest of Canada. A few in the Maritimes were shooting in Maine, but the border boys weren't happy. Now, if we could could get some Canadians as IHMSA members and lobby hard to the CFO's to allow the steel targets on ranges with good berms behind, it might stand a chance. I started shooting silhouette in the late 70's and have watched it die, partly because of the director, and a lot because new shooters don't want to practice sufficiently to become serious long distance shooters.
We still do a bit here, but often you'd think no one owns a .44 anymore!

We still have a silhouette range in Saskatoon and I believe Prince Albert still has one, a few guys still shoot it. It was actually my gateway drug into competitive shooting but Ipsc and 3-gun quickly took over and starting a family I suppose but it was fun.
