Free floating means nothing touches the barrel I agree the handguards are free floated but the barrel can't be so......I cant remeber what I was trying to say anyway next
Well the barrel is cantilever from the receiver, it doesn't "float in the air" per say... In a nut shell it means that weither you have a VFG and you're torquing it good or you're resting the handguard on something or you have a bipod on it and you're using it, the point of impact won't change and will be the same as if you didn't apply any force on the hanguard.
The handguard it attached over the barrel to the receiver but eveything is as one at this location so even if you apply pressure on the end of the FF handguard it wont bend the barrel, so the bullet will still go straight.
