Ummm. You say restricted but I believe that is incorrect. Ranch hands should be NR as long as the came from factory that way.

I like it and I like the price but I'm done with restricteds. Any non restricted kicking about?

If the OAL is less than 26” barrel to butt than it is usually classified as restricted. The 12.75” on the Henry mares leg just barely makes it non restricted. If all manual functioning firearms that are under 26” produced by companies were non-restricted than I’d own a few derringers and a couple of single action revolvers. But alas I won’t ever own any restricted weapons because I don’t need them for hunting. Just my 2 cents.

It's not about barrel length, the list starts with the action to determine mag and size limits.

From there minimum stock to tip is 26"+

Derringers and sa-r's are handgun receivers..

Handguns like ARs are named restricteds. Normal classification need not apply.

Firearms no named restricted/prohibited must be classified according to the guidelines laid out in the CC of Canada. The RCMP will will consider stockless long guns under the 26" oal restricteds (presumably as handguns), but if it is a manual action and has a non-foldable/collapsible stock from factory (ranch hand or KSG Tactical shotgun for example) it cant be called a handgun, nor can the OAL or barrel length requirements be applied.

I have had several Ranch hands, all have been NR. The Keltec KSG tactical is 21.3" OAL and has NR FRT# as approved by the RCMP.

Please research the laws and know them intimately before speaking matter of factly to someone on the intricacies of canadian firearms law.
Spreading misinformation does not help anything.

No it is not. Barrel length laws dont apply to manual actions and OAL laws dont apply to factory made firearms that do not have folding/telescoping stocks.

The whole firearm is just 21”, I’m not referring to the barrel length... that’s 9”. Most firearms less than 26” are restricted. My last ranch hand was 24” but still not restricted, not sure why not, but wasn’t looking to argue it. 21” most definitely is restricted and it will have a reg cert to prove it
