No no no your misunderstanding. Think of buying a cookie from Tim Hortons. You see chocolate chips on the outside of the cookie and figure the chips will be all through the cookie. It's not until you bite inside that you come to know that it wasn't so.
Or the bag for the cookies states "Double Chocolate Chip" so you expect a chocolate explosion when you pull out the cookie:
It's the same thing. They are trying to make people believe they are loaded with the best of the best weaponry by displaying the people on the outside to have 416's while the inside is just soldiers holding the normal everyday weaponry.

My comment wasn't an attack on the French, it was a simple Humorous comment made about the picture. The comment would have been the same no matter what nationality was in the picture.

I think it was WWI that we had 65K dead,, WWII was something in the order of 45K Canadian dead.
With the majority of the Free French Army being Algerian, the number of French born casualties is pretty complicated.
The French liberated their own country,, with more than a little help from their friends.
PLEASE shot me where my humorous comment is an insult to thousands of dead french. Point out EXACTLY the comment that does that....
As for the French during WWII they lost 0.005% of their population in MILITARY Related deaths, Canada lost 0.004%. China lost 3,000,000 which is still only 0.005% of their population at the time. Germany lost 0.08% of their population.

I think you mean to say 0.4% for Canada; China was between 1.93-3.86% and Germany was anywhere from 8-10.7% (Russia was about 13.5%).

Mixed fleet. Must make for quite a bit of confusion when it comes to weapon drills, IA, stoppages, TTPs and so on.
