I'm looking for a list of the types of black powder firearms (rifle and pistol) the french crown used and manufactured over the years?

Anyone have a collection that includes some rare or stunning french pieces?

I'd love to see any photos.

I don't know anything about french rifles, but am also curious. Just an FYI, there is history of french rifles here in Canada. I know that not too long ago, they found a cache of muskets in Pickering Ontario (beside Toronto) on Brock Rd and Rossland Rd. on a small creek. Maybe the ROM would have some information.

A few examples of french pistols and muskets:

There is a good book by Russell Bouchard on small arms in New-France. I don't have pics, but if you google for "Tulles musket", you will get a good idea of what hunting musket looked like. Infantry musket looked a bit he same, most of the time ia larger caliber.

You may also check the "Military Heritage" website to have a look at some repro.

Check these French Muskets out.

Thanks for the heads up, link deleted.
