Fresh BCL MXR Bison build questions

Hey, got suckered :) into ordering a Bison from SFRC with the election weekend sale. Now the question, having not been able to handle one in real life yet, the rail seems high compared to the cheek rest of the buttstock. Assuming lowest rings possible? Going to start with a 1-4x40 Bushnell I have kicking around, wondering if a cantilever mount will be far to high. Wanting to run a set of Troy fold down iron sights if possible so the cantilever would be preferred, just figure it will be too high but looking for real world experience. Thanks

In the end you will want either a 1.25" airsoft cheek riser compatible with the Moe stock, or an adjustable comb height stock of some kind. That is assuming you will be using it for precision shooting for any moderate length of time. I would recommend shooting it and then figuring out if you feel you need something or not.

Yea the Moe risers or change the stock to something with an adjustable comb like a FAB Defence. As for the scope I would go with a LPVO with the lowest rings I could find.

Cheers
Moe

That looks to be the right idea.

Lowest rings possible. Scope almost touching the picatinny rail.

I think most people would have the correct cheek-weld with that setup.

Looks like a chin weld even with the low rings, this gun should come with an adjustable cheek rest or higher cheek rest out of the box.

Package showed up today and rifle feels good. Bolt is as smooth as expected with 0 rounds thru. Had a set of low QD rings and they worked great for this Bushnell 1-4. Doesn't even seem to need the cheek riser but will install the GL-Core when it shows up anyways. Can't wait to head to the range with it.

Question, I looked around but didn't see anyone talking about it, but what's the word on the proprietary 20 round mag that BCL was promoting with these? I knew I was just getting a p-mag, just wondering if anyone has seen an update. Thanks again gentlemen

Jeff I hope I'm wrong but with the liberals stating a ban on all mags over 5rds during their campaign, I have my doubts that BCL will pursue that mag making it to market. They were dragging their a$$ with these mags as it was prior to the election promise.

Again I hope I am wrong. If it came to fruition I would buy one of these rifles the next day.

The whole 20rd mag announcement does help sales of the rifle though...

Cheers
Moe

Jeff....looks good!

I haven't had any luck getting info on the 20/20rnd mags. I think Moe might be correct but hope he's wrong.
I've been using my 10/10rnd MFT mags that I picked up cheap (back in the AR days) and they've been flawless. I haven't used the mag that came with the rifle as I'm not a fan of long mags especially shooting off the bench.

Let us know how your first trip to the Range goes and keep an "eye" out for any extraction/ejection issues.....

Thanks, I'm with you on the long mag thing. I have a few metal and plastic Lar-15 mags that I will be using anyways. Just was a curiosity thing for the most part about the 20 rounders. This is a late 300 serial number so think the early ejection issues should be resolved....hopefully. haha
