As soon as I saw the 8" barrels Dlask was offering, I knew I had to have one... here you go, freshly assembled.

Note: Inserted mag is empty.

Hope to take it out by weekend.
Any questions?

Very hefty at the barrel end. It's solid, But because it is so short, it's very manageable.
I just threw it on the bathroom scale, 2.3Kg or 5lbs.

I love how it feels. I can hardly wait for range time.

Love it, really like the sights. Great how so many people are doing 8" builds. Like you said there hefty but the short overall length makes them so manageable. I'm
Just finishing up my second one. And love the trimag, that's the only way I run my backpack shorties.

Thanks all... yeah, I'm pretty excited. Nicest 10/22 I've owned to date. The thing I like most is its simplicity. High-Speed Low-Drag ;)

I was under the impression it was the end of the barrel that the oal was measured on. Either way, your still legal. Very nice build!

The 26" minimum is overall length... not to the muzzle... if your stock is 26" or more, you are good to go with any barrel length... most stocks, except folders, meet the minimum length.

very nice! ive got a boyds evolution thats sitting unused, how loud is this thing , accuracy at 50m?

They are very accurate... we were shooting 3/4" groups at 50 yards last weekend with my daughters (below) and have not even broken it in or fine tuned... we were using CCI SV's... bulk 555 and Blazer's were almost as good.

That's the way I understand the regulations as well... Just finishing up my short barrel build (NEA 9"), and with a vortex muzzle brake, and a different buffer tube, the Magpul stock on a NEA chassis makes it 26 1/4" stock end to muzzle brake tip... 1/4" to spare!!

like hoyt mentioned they are quite an accurate little barrel. I have a couple of 8" bulds. One thing you will notice the first time you shoot it tho is hearing protection is now required. Even with my xb5 muzzle brakes they make quite a good little snap over even a 12.5" barrel.

Have you shot it? After looking at it again, the cheek weld looks to be very tall for those sights. How does it feel?

No problem at all... the cheek is actually placed at the lowest point; the sights are higher than OEM and this stock was designed to be used with the OEM sights.
