I finally got time to go shoot a 270 tikka t3 lite I bought over the winter, I put a bushnell 3200 elite scope on it. Well it was a big disapointment. Whats the worst thing you can hear after buying a new gun, when you pull the trigger? CLICK! 2nd round, click. what the heck? I checked the bolt, looked at the round, showed a guy beside me, then tried a 3rd round. CLICK! Then I looked closely at the round, hardly any indent made by the firing pin. Good thing I brought the 303 that i put a new scope on, otherwise my time would have been wasted. Now I have to take the gun in to get it fixed.
This happen to anyone else with a new tikka?

I'm sorry to hear that. Chances are your rifle is going to have to go back to Stoeger for the repair. I just got a shotgun back from them a while ago. Let me put it to you this way. I sent it to them brand new, unfired, in non working order. When it came back, it was still unfired, complete with a scratch in the barrel, one scratch in the stock, and a small ding. But at least it will extract now. :runaway:

Well after the first 2 posts I would be furious. Almost to the point of demanding a new gun. For something that is unfired and have the potential to come back with a couple of scratches in it, not interested. If I want scratches on my gun, I will do them myself.

Ive seen a 700 SPS that wouldnt fire due to a bent firing pin, and a 700 SPS thats extractor broke on the 2nd shell ever. Both were fixed by Remington warranty and back within 3 weeks FWIW.

Too bad about your Tikka, you best be contacting Stoeger and they will fix it

I had a new rifle, wasn't a tikka, that had about every second round misfire. It was light primer strikes. I pulled the bolt apart and cleaned the excess amount of oil/grease off the pin and cleaned the inside of the bolt. It resolved the problem. You might want to check that as believe the tikka bolt comes apart easily.

Hi Saskmale73, just another quick check besides the other suggestions also,
pull the bolt and stick your finger inside the top of the receiver under the bases. Are the base screws protuding ???

no base screws sticking out. And like an idiot I was looking at the bolt, trying to take it apart...and cocked the bolt, so the pin is sticking out..still trying to un #### it without leaving marks on the bolt.
