just got my custom made compensator in today.
put it on the 10/22 shorty build.
i went with a longer then normal one to get the vent holes past the stock so they would not dump crud on it and possibly burn it.

Approved... :D

Good call on the longer compensator, but is there any reason you chose to go with a shorter barrel, rather than one that ended right at the end of the stock? Or was it something you got before you bought the stock? Looks great either way though... What's the OAL on that, if you don't mind my asking? It looks like the stock is actually the longest part of the entire thing...

without the compensator is 1/4" over min, so like 26 1/4"
so its legal with or without the comp on it.

the comp i had made by MaddMacs' Precision Tactical down in the states.
love his work.
only drawback is he dosnt ship to canada, thankfully i have a brother in Texas.
this is my 2nd comp from him, i had him make one for my 22/45 Lite as well.
price wise they are anywhere from 40-65 USD.
this one was a bit more because i needed it longer then they usually are.
think it was $69 ??

Its a Boyd Evolution stock with a Dlask 8.5" barrel on a Dlask DAR 22 receiver.
i wanted to make a short 22 that my wife and kids could enjoy (ya right, its for me, haha)

everytime i look at the gun all i can think is that it looks like a Ruger Charger Handgun with a butt stock on it.

I think it looks a hell of a lot nicer than the Charger, and non-restricted to boot!

Kinda funny how the stock itself is just within the legal limits... I'm actually hoping to build something similar (although more tacticool), with the short barrel and a buttstock. That's a pretty good price on the compensator too, especially considering it's a custom made one. Now the question is: How does it shoot?

i had it out to the range with the old compensator on it a week or so ago and it purred like a kitten.
i am really liking that Cabela's Pine Ridge scope that is on it.
for $129 ya just cant go wrong!

i think the only thing on this gun that i am not 100% happy with is the trigger group.
its just a stock new composite one.
im really slapping my hand not to get a metal one and VQ it up, or get another Kid or maybe a Timmy.
i had tossed around the idea of sending it down to a gunsmith who specializes in 10/22's and having him work on it a bit to see how that is.

but then i remembered it was the plastic stock trigger group.
how much do i want to polish up a plastic one.....
