gather around children and i will tell you a story about ugly chambermaid who transformed into..... oh wait wrong story.
.... i will tell you the story of an ugly duckling who transformed into a nice pistol with minimal work.
so one day there was a Glock 19TB who spent his days sitting around in the gun safe and he wondered why no one ever came to play with him.
was it my ugly Pinocchio barrel, he wondered?
was it my horribly uncomfortable grip, he mused?
and then one day his big brother Mr.10mm came home and lets just say he had some work done, suppressor height sights, threaded barrel, compensator, red dot, flared oversized magwell..... he was a thing of beauty.
so the 19TB thought to himself.... i already have a threaded barrel, why dont i just go get a little work done to myself as well, then maybe I'LL get to come out of the safe and play!
so he did just that.
he tip toed into the bed room and took the credit card from his master and went onto Black Box Custom's website and ordered a ARC comp just for himself.
and while there he noticed that Magpul had put out some little discrete magwells for glocks and they where rather inexpensive, so he added one of those to the cart as well.
well, 2 days later a package arrived and the 19TB owner was so surprised to see all these wonderful toys!
he ran in and installed both items in seconds and skipped out to the range to test them out.
oh the joy that was had that day!
ARC comp
magpul magwel
the new look!
the G19 and the G40 together for a family pic
but in all seriousness, for $150CDN i got the comp and magwell and it arrived in 2 days and it made a world of difference FOR ME for using this pistol.
ive not made any secrets that i hate the finger groves on my 19 and when i put the magwell on my G40 i noticed it gave me a nice support for the bottom of my hand, so my thought was maybe this magwell on the 19 would do the same and it did!
the 19 feels MUCH better in the hand now with that little lip on the bottom of my hand.
and as a added bonus its faster and easier to do reloads.
ive never been a big fan of the treated barrel but at least it was better than the Pinocchio barrel and i hated the plastic thread protector that came with the pistol so it was time to replace it.
i was having a heck of a time finding a metal thread protector in the glock thread and i stumbled upon this comp that is in the glock thread and figured for the couple extra bucks i can have a neat looking comp and not only looks nice but actually helps reduce muzzle rise and keep on target for quick shooting.
all in im very happy with the upgrades.
only drawback is im having some issues with the stock 19 magazines seating and after doing some research it is a known issue with the 10rd mags as they have a thicker baseplate then the other glock magazines for some reason.
i believe i found a remady for it though, apparently ranger pull base plates are thinner and work good with this magwell so for $20 i ordered a 3 pack of those so that should fix the issue.
