I have heard these same criticisms. the unsupported chamber, and the "Revolver" style 'Forcing Cone' are the two biggest....

I too wanted one, but will wait until those are corrected, or someone sells one cheap

Its just amazing how the 44 magnum, blued version is sooo much nicer to look at as well!

IMO this gun and others like it...were never made to be a bench rest, sub MOA type gun. They are meant to be a light trail gun for small-medium sized game out to 100 yards (anything within 3"-5" is good enough for a deer at that range I believe and the average seems to be 1.5"-3" groups)

This is THE perfect bush gun/back up gun for me...plus i can pair it with my stainless GP-100 :)...if only I could carry THAT on the trails

- light weight with sling mounts
- irons as well as easy to put a scope on/off
- stainless and synthetic for durability/ease of care maintaining in the bush
- cheap to shoot/load for

I take internet reviews with a grain of salt...so many people lack any real skill to be qualified to judge what a gun can/can't do...peoples reviews here on CGN saying SKS' group 6"-10" at 100yards is a good example. When I and friends can hit tennis balls 90% of the time at that range off a rest with dirty surplus...and can group MUCH better using modern, factory new ammo.


Read Jeff Quinns, Guns and Ammo's or American Rifleman's for a more accurate review on the rifles accuracy.
 
Well I got it, and initial impressions are good.

The fit and finish are a little less than I expected for a $700 rifle though, with some flashing on the stock, and the mag sticking a bit. The mag after loading a couple times has worked in fine, and I wasn't after a safe queen so the minor imperfections in the stock don't bug me.

As far as accuracy is concerned I have ony put about 25 rounds of American Eagle JSP and 10 of my own SWC's through it but at 25m off of the quad, and freehand shooting I am pretty damn happy.

I am up at the cottage for the long weekend so accuracy testing will happen next week when I can put the scope on, and rest the gun, and of course I will post a range report with pics! ;)
