Frigon Trap Gun

These were made by Marocchi and imported in the mid 90's. They were very inexpensive guns and their quality matched the price. I recall many shooters buying them at the time but the guns didn't stand up under sustained use. I can only think of one shooter still using one and his was rebuilt a couple of times.

Frigon trap Gun? Interesting name! I thought frigon might have been descriptive:D

Thought that the original poster may have been too polite to say fuggin:dancingbanana:

If you go back to the Shotgun Sports magazines of the early to mid ninties, you will find that the Frigon was advertised quite extensively.
Now let's go to Marocchhi. Remember the picture of the Marocchi "Avanza" on the cover of the Gun Digest Book of Sporting Clays. Nearly everyone of the photographs inside the book had people shooting Berreta over and unders with the exception of the "Avanza" article.
Now, let us go to the infamous Winchester 1001 over and under made by Marocchi. When they first came out there was a wee bit of a problem with them. They blew up, resulting in a massive recall. Go figure.
On some of the U.S. shotgun websites of the ninties and early two thousands, the Frigon was compared with the infamous Turdick, the best two holer ever made.

The Frigon taught me a very valuable lesson. After listening to the guys who bought them and bragged about the great deal they got and subsequently watched the problems arise it taught me that buying proven guns from quality makers was never a mistake even if they were much more expensive.

I can definitely attest to those words.

What is the "infamous Turdick"?

The Turdick was a mythical shotgun concocted on the old Shotgun Sports website before the website went politically correct. Everything on that old Shotgun Sports web site seemed to have some form of BS to it with subsequent trolling, insults, and further B.S. Anyways, some guys decided to invent the mythical Turdick shotgun. It did not cost much, It never needed repairs, It was guaranteed to shoot 100x100 right out of the box, had little or no recoil, and could handle all shotgun shooting sports with ease. The stock came in Turdick brown walnut with a lovely smell, and fit everyone. Like outhouses, the Turdick came as a one holer, or a two holer. and the semi auto. Let me describe the semi auto. It was a semi auto with a breaking action. like an over and under. This Turdick invention was described 4 or 5 years before Beretta came out with such a version. When the Beretta break open semi did come out there was much disgust on the Shotgun Sports website given that Turdick inventors already had the rights and patents, and that Beretta was a commie copy cat............................
I sort miss that old slug it out internet forum.

Could you explain the bolded section are you saying the Avanza was/is a inferior product?

Thanks Grant
