Hi guys! I felt like introducing myself. My name is Rytis im 16 (17 on october 25th) live in Burlington Ontario. Although i have been into things that shoot projectiles (paintballs, bb guns) yesterday was my first time shooting a .22 rifle. I fell in love at first shot. The person who let me shoot was a person i met at a lithuanian gathering (happened to be at a private range in caledonia) and unfortunately i do not think i will see him again for a very long time. Is there anyone here who could maybe show me the roops, shoot some rounds and teach me a thing or two at the range? I have a car and am willing to travel.

P.S i have already posted in the newbie forum and have come to realize that this forum is filled with many great people who are very nice and helpful. :)

I've been insanely busy this summer, but things are getting a bit more normal, so I can start going to the range and bringing guests regularly - if you ever want to come up to Sharon Gun Club as my guest, I can arrange that... a bit under an hour north-east of Toronto. Not the closest to you, but I'm usually there all day Saturday, and there's either a rifle or shotgun match, as well as the occasional IPSC, IDPA, Cowboy, and Safari matches.

Let me know, and we can work something out.

Noi,

Show up at Range Burlington (www.rangeburlington.ca) on any Saturday Morning between the hours of 8:00am and 12:30pm and ask to speak to one of the directors (Jack or Steve) They run the juniors section at the rifle range and can probably get you shooting that morning. Cost is usually just a box of ammo (typically $3-5) and targets. They shoot air pistol, air rifle and22rf rifle using club guns.

The BRRC is located on King Road in Burlington, just North of the 403 and just south of the model airplane flying club.

The range (low yellow building on the right) is 7/24 for members with an access card. The classroom (large blue-ish building) is only open if there is a training class on or an event.

No problem at all! The juniors program was set up for 8-18 year olds that don't have licences yet. All shooting is done under the imediate supervision of a licenced director or coach.

There's usually no one there before 8:00am, so aim (pardone the pun) for 8:15-8:30am. When you get there, go to the actual range building. If the door is not chained open, ring the bell; someone will let you in. Walk down stairs and introduce yourself. Tell them what you've told us, and that Skeetgunner (aka "rifle director") said they should speak to Jack or Steve. One of them will be there.

They'll give you the tour, safety breiffing, probably start you on an CO2 air-rifle the first relay. The club has a selection of Anschutz, CIL, Savage BV, BVTS, FTV and Cadet-T .22rf rifles. Many with optics; some with traditional peep sites. Jack sells ammo and targets for a nominal fee.

Dress warm, the range is below ground and can be cold. Jeans, sneakers and a sweatshirt are ok. You should have eye and ear protection, but Jack can lend you some to get you started if you dont have it yet.

Good luck, have fun!

If you want to trek down to the the St. Catharines area some Sunday morning for the Maple Leaf Marksman club fun shoot PM me and I'll make arrangements to introduce you around.

Welcome to CGN noi. One thing though...you are from Burlington not the GTA. I grew up in Burlington and was proud of the fact that we had nothing to do with the rotting lieberal filth that is the GTA.
Check out the Burlington, they have a very nice facility.
