Damn, I really want one. Who knows maybe some will work their way across the border... there were other firearms before this one that people thought would never make it up here yet they showed up anyway.

I still like the original Magpul Masada better than the final Bushmaster/Remington ACR...stranger things have happened, perhaps we'll see them marketing a hunting/varmint model like the R-15 or R-25 that will permit export. I know that even with Bushmaster building them, I like this rifle a whole lot more than the FN SCAR.

If they didn't change the original barrel system I think the carrier/locking mechanism just accepts AR barrels. If so, not hard to put in some 18.6's.

If they make it up here, I will buy it. To me, Magpul put together a very interesting design from an ergonomic and engineering perspective.

The forward charging handle of the Bushmaster ACR was a good touch to the original Masada. The use of simple AR barrels with a ratchet is easy-peesy, good thinking over the SCAR. Fieldstrip is a no brainer, again unlike the SCAR...

THe charging handling position is retarded. If you attach a Laser or light on the rail, you cannot even reach for the charging handle.

Whate were they thinking?

Very similar problem on the SCAR. The charging handle is less than half an inch away from the top rail. Optics and mounts that overhang will make it hard to engage.

They were thinking it is an ambi charging handle and that you will be mounting your Pac4 or whatever on the side opposite your body anyhow. I think this is a truly brilliant design, made for efficiency of movement and ergonomics. Much much better thought out then the AR and most other platforms, but will it be better enough for the US Army to get interested in?

I would drop $3k on this thing in a hot minute!
