hey guys, is there a standard for manufacturers to use when it comes to dove tails for front sight posts and rear sights etc?

Id like to know what a factory spec front post for a Ruger #1 might be, its a 303 which i am pretty sure is a #1a sporter.
height of total sight from dovetail to top.
an also the dovetail itself, the base would be fine, length an width?

or more importantly

will the Sako A1 front post Dovetail, fit into the Ruger dovetail setup?

thanks

Ruger front sight isn’t a standard dovetail. It slides in from the front and has a retainer pin with a spring underneath. The only replacements are factory or from NECG that I’m aware of.

Hi mate!

Luckily! i have found the front Post assembly You speak of! it was on the bottom of the safe!? so thats not great news for the Rear sight Blade an screw..........

but , what i wsa able to do-- using the factory rear sight, i used some apoxie clay to basically sculpt a "rear V notch" in the gaping hole of the buckhorn looking sight without the Blade notch..... il post a photo when it dries an i paint it... its bogan but its guna work. welcome back 303.

i shot it today with the drawn down 170gr projectiles..... it likes them plenty enough to hunt

soooo....just to update an Question for Confirmations.........

this Zastava......... has open sights, Dovetail front post and Dovetail folding Rear.........

Does this mean.......... just quietly.. Do i have a New Rear sight for my Ruger 1.. yeah!?

Dovetail = Dovetail...
