front sight is off center?

My SR9 out of the box the front sight is off center by 1mm.
Is that a factory "adjustment" or a bad installation?

The best way to determine which is to shoot some groups at 25yds.

Yup. If it is zeroed, don't worry.

Not uncommon to find brand new handguns with either the front or rear sights to be slightly off to one side. If it bothers you, take it back and have the gunsmith look at it; or take it to the range and test fire it to see how it groups and then decide.

I have a brand new S&W M&P9 Pro Series and it's the same thing, about 1mm to the left out of the box. If it's zeroed I'll leave it, if not I'll adjust it after. Not a big deal and a quick fix.
