Front sight pin removal

A nice parabolic pin punch to start it and a nice base to hold the FSB properly. I like to hold the punch with a vice grip and make my first whack count with mini sledge. If you dont get it right the first time it just gets mushroomed and worse.

If you access to a press that makes it easier :)

it may be obvious, but make sure you start hitting on the smaller end of the tapered pin... it is possible to get the FSB off by going the other way, but you'll be pounding for quite some time.

Basically what everyone else said. I use a piece of 2x4 to lay it on and drill a hole through the wood so the pin has somewhere to go. Then take the punch, line it up, and smash the #### out of it. Make the first hit count cuz if you don't hit it hard enough it could warp the pin and get it stuck in the hole tighter then before. Keep whacking til it comes out.
