Front sight post issue

I have a noticeable issue with my AR FSP not aligning properly with the top rail on my upper receiver, it seems to be leaning to the right. Having never taken a barrel off I'm wondering if it's at all possible that my barrel is installed with a slight right twist....or by design is that just not possible? If not the barrel then I need to assume the FSP is installed wrong but that would lead me to believe that the factory cut the pin groves incorrectly.

Anyone have this issue, is it common or is there an easy fix?

Its PSA and I had the barrel removed from the PSA upper and put on a Spikes upper/lower so the sight post has been removed. I can try to reset the sight but wanted to ask here first and see if I can eliminate the idea that the barrel is causing the twist.

Its a common Quality control issue with some AR front sight assemblies. I've seen a lot of Diamaco barrels with this issue and there is no real fix. The sight is put on the barrel and held in place with a jig at the factory. The tapered hole is drilled through both the sight and barrel at the same time. So if it was canted in the jig the sight will lean to one side when installed.

You could buy a clamp on gas block with front sight and replace the one you have now. But most times the canted front sight will still zero and work fine.

That's unfortunate but it gives me a reason to just put a low profile block on it and buy a dot.

Thanks for the info guys.

If it's not atrociously canted, it'll zero.

Forged FSB's are EXTREMELY strong, takes a hell of a beating to deform one.
