So i bought the Tech Sights rear apature, along with a williams fire sight front for my new Simonov. Problem is, I cant get the front sight post to unscrew.

I have already completely broken one sight tool. Then I bought the AKFST front sight tool. It didnt break it, but bent the tool!!!!!

What am i doing wrong? I am trying to turn it counter clockwise to remove it. Anyone have any tips?

Have you tried removing the sight from its base? The post may have a head which is held captive between the base and the ramp.
On my M44 the hood and ramp must be removed from the base (which stays attached to the barrel) then the post comes out from the bottom of the hood and ramp. (This design keeps the post from ever vibrating out and being lost.)

Do you see a punch mark that has been applied to lock the sight pin from turning?

Should just screw out turning counter clockwise.
Probably stuck by rust.
Penetrating oil, maybe bit of heat from a torch, time and patience.
I’d keep squirting it with penetrating oil and allow it time to work for a day or two.
Tap the top of the main body of the site with a flat nosed punch every now and then to try and separate the rusted together threads.
Keep working at it slowly, it’ll come apart.

Good pic Norton. Is that a groove running top to bottom on the threads? For a locking pin?
A propane torch on the base should help free things up. Not sure how it would effect the finish though.
Penetrating oil, time and punch taps are also sound advice. Take care not to mushroom the post with heavy blows however.

Lube it the night before with Kroil oil. Then heat up the front post sight with a heat gun. ON LOW SETTING and take your time warming up the front sight post. Get a pair of needle noise vice grips and try to rotate it out. Just like Norton said. If this dosn't work please post back some pic's of your front sight and we will try to figgure out what went on & how to fix it.
