front sight ramp

I received a henry H001, the sight on it is a cheap plastic scrap, I need to change it but the factory sight is not standard is a small barrel band who hold the tubular magazine and the barrel and is secure by a screw on the barrel. I want to change it for a ramp with a regular 3/8" dovetail but the only ramps I have see now is the williams with a radius of 0.625" and my barrel have a radius of .581" this one have only 1 hole for screwing, the other one I see is the marble with flat base and two holes i guest if is flat it probabely need two screw ????

Do you have some advise or tip for me, if possible i better like to do the job by myself of to go to the gunsmith but if I need some welding or tapping i will not have the choice.


For the rear sight i have a williams receiver peep sight it fit on the scope 3/8" grouves and for the front one I expect to install a lyman target aperture.

Matou - I'm a bit confused - do you want to install a replacement ramp or a globe??? If it's just a one hole ramp then I might have one that will fit but I'll need to know 1) how far back from the muzzle is the hole located and 2) how high is the sight?

the hole is around 1.25 " from the end of the barrel, the front sight high is 0.345" from the top of barrel. For my peep sight I need my front sight around 0.625". I think is possible to play with the high of the ramp and with the high of the front sight.

I need to put a ramp for to change my front sight because the henry front sight is just a piece of plastic it hold with the screw and a plastic barrel band. I have no dovetail, when I shipped a e-mail to henry they said me it have no after market front sight except the steel one they sold and is exactly the same of the plastic one with no dovetail.

I need the ramp for attaching the globe sight or a regular front sight at the front not sure for now, for now I only have a hole on the front of the barrel all other parts have no use except if I cut the plastic ramp and the big rectangular sight and I use this for my front barrel band to keep the look of winchester 94.


my best choice is the flat bottom ramp with only 1 screw or the to big round one ????
