I am looking at some front sight tools on ebay right now. One is made by AIM and the other is made by UTG. Are these decent quality tools, or are they all pretty much the same? The ones are under $10 with cheap shipping which is why I am considering them.

Thanks

FWIW, I've had several of these bend on me - they are made of cheaply cast material - some low grade of recycled steel or something.

One I modified with a bolt to strengthen it, eventually I'm going to fab one using proper materials.

These ones will generaly work on most SKS's but once you get one stubborn front sight (it happens more than you might think!), they don;t perform very well.

Ah ok cool. maybe I would be better of with one of the Tapco brand tools from Fabsports? Says it's made from 4140 grade steel.... that's forged right? It's a bit more expensive at $20, but if it lasts would be worth it.

4140 is a grade of steel billet. It could subsequently be milled, cast, MIM injected or forged. It depends.

It's probably better than the cheap asian ones though.

I just ordered the one from Can Ammo...is this one any good? It's on sale for $9.99! Shipping to me is $10 bucks though, oh well hehe.
