I have opened an account on their web sight. That was free

On ebay I bought a 4 day handgun course for $15. That now shows as a credit on my account with Front Sight.

A room at Circus Circus is $50 a night.

Would need a rental car. Front Sight is out of town.

I can buy the 700 rounds of ammo at the range for about $190 US

Air Canada is about $410Cdn

So, all in I am looking at about $1100 Cdn

Anyone done this course? Is it worth it?

There are varying stories about Front Sight. Some like it and others found it to be so so. It’s like the McDonalds of the firearms training world.

I have a feeling that your life long experience with guns will put you at the head of the class there.

Been there a few times. I always stayed at Saddle West in Pahrump as its a PITA to drive from LV out each day. Nothing fancy just basic as thats all I needed. U have a couple of options for ammo. Other than buying from the range, there is a WalMart Superstore in town or you can also check with Ammo Supply Warehouse(they have a website), which used to have a large variety at very appealing pricing. The range is about 20min away from Pahrump.
You'll enjoy it no matter what course u take
dB

** I see they have now set up preferred rates with The Best Western as well as Holiday Inn Express..Still suggest shopping around

I guess a car rental is required?

Trip Advisor shows Saddle West at $51 CDN a night. Hard to beat that.

Been there several times. Well worth it.
Shop around for hotel and car rental deals.
Take in the lectures. They cover stuff that is relevant and informative. Best to go with an open mind.

They arent like they used to be a few years back..It was almost like one of those time-share seminars and trying to get u to try the Kool-aid. I guess they got tired of the complaints as its a whole lot better now. Remember, for the most part you will be surrounded by students with very little saavy about guns in general, but overall it is a fine experience...

I'm a lifetime member and have done 3 courses so far.
The basic course is pretty basic if you have a lot of experience, but has great info and the whole operation is very professionally run.
I was in a course with a cop from Utah. I asked him what he thought of the caliber of training and he responded that it was far superior than anything he received in the police force.

Not sure what you have back east, but there are lots of courses across the country, however if you are willing to go to the US for a course I'd be looking for courses with any of the top tier guys down there, Pat Mac, Chuck Haggard, Tom Givens, John Johnston, Ernest Langdon and so on. Frontsight is still considered a joke in the training community at large.

Ok. Thank you for that.

I see MILCUN has a 3 day Enhanced Pistol Course in July. That would be around 1000 rounds of shooting, with a focus on speed and accuracy. I did his 2 day basic course and my performance doubled.

The Saddle West actually has a Front Sight rate BUT the Holiday Inn Express you get free breakfast.
The food truck on site is okay but we found it WAY cheaper to hit Walmart the night before and take sandwiches and stuff.
We bought a couple of boxes of 9mm at Walmart and found the Ammo Bunker on the property was just as economical.
Send me your email and I can scan you the 4 day schedule if you want.
The best part of going to NV is that if you are legally allowed to be in NV you can open carry. It's kind of weird at first standing in line at the BBQ joint with a gun on your hip.

Gunsite is another option as is Tactical Performance Center. Sadly Ron Avery just passed away or you could get in with him. But TPC has some of the best instructor cadres going right now.
