The front sight on my M305 came drifted all the way over to the right. Now surely to the big man upstairs this can't be right. I noticed that both the sight itself and the flash hider have a mark or dash on them respectively. These marks seem to line pretty damn good. Do they have anything to do with the alignment of the sight, or is it just there to make it look pretty?

Nah, the shop class factory workers merely slap that front sight on. Don't expect that boomstick to be sighted in for you.

Be prepared to drift your front sight appropriately as needed.

Most of you are gonna be scoping this rifle..... So I would leave the front sight alone for the time being, until you get some serious replacements like a set of USGI M1 Garand sights.
