What an awesome day! Whoever was in charge of the design and setup did an excellent job. A little longer than I planned, but 7 stages and a decent round count really kept things interesting. Kingston is a great club with outstanding facilities and members. The only silly thing was the casing of guns between ranges - I assume that was a CFO idea, not a club proposal.

I didn't bring my darn camera - not sure if anyone else managed to take some pictures.

I agree...great match! had a tonne of fun, and those 3 long courses back to back we're a good workout. Thanks to all the members who setup, take-down, and RO's were top notch.

if anyone could give me the email of 'Peter' in the 12oclock grp starting at the 100yd range who had his buddy videotaping and snapping photos, it would be greatly appreciated...i wanna get some action shots to show the family

Chris

I'd also like to sing praises for the coordinators for this match - was a very interesting way to get into IPSC, and I thought it went pretty well for my first match.

I'd like that email as well - he snapped a few good pictures of my 9mm AR (which I never got a chance to fire).

Thanks again!

Brad

nice match !

Agree, nice match for provincial warm up....haven't shot in a few months, not much all year, so nice size level 2 for getting the rust off.....Had a blast.....
I dropped lots of points warming up, but speeds were decent.....Hoping for more Alphas at provincials.
was nice to meet some new people I've never shot with before...
Thanx to all whohelped set up and run this match !!!
Fun and good luck to all at the provincials !!!

yep long stages, lots of fun, it is my home range, but it is becoming one of the best ipsc ranges to shoot in this aera.
Shooting was good when the ammo worked, me thinks i got to stop being a cheap ass and but better ammo.

Results

I usually not in the most rush to see results like the next day...but now I'm getting an ich too..... but, the person(s) involved to do so may be at the provincials helping out, so maybe get results next week....all good. :)
though, if this match ends up as a classifier....than early results in time for the provincial match may have been good too :)

see ya'll on Sunday......

I imagine I bombed - I usually do:redface:

I zeroed on one of the stages last time - not a DQ, and no one could explain why. I had scores on my paper when I signed the sheet at the match, but the results showed zero. I asked Bud, and he knew nothing about it - talk to an RO from the match - I emailed Mr.Clean (he was the RO), and he had no idea-maybe talk to someone at the club. At that point, it was already 2 weeks after the match, so I let it go...

My opinion on results (not only for this match), they should be available right away.
We pay fees for the match and it is like a contract.
(Imagine going to the restaurant and paying for pizza, which
will be served next day)
I know, someone has to do it, and it takes time, but there
are many guys waiting just for that :)

My two cents

Many guys waiting to help? Wish they would stand up and start helping.

Last few matches at our club had My GF , Myself, and three seniors to run the match, run the BBQ, take down the stages (3+ hours after a 10 hour day after a 10 hour day the day before setting up) and the do the scoring which is another 2-3 hours of computer input.
Unless you have a dedicated stats team, you will always wait a day or three.

I can only say "Thank Goodness" the RO's in the area are Fantastic and always willing to help out or we'd never be able to hold matches.

Dinsdale,

I agree, is always those few who run this sport. First of all, I do not want to step on someone's toes. I do help occasionally, this year am planning on doing my RO course and next help with ro-ing.
As for the stats, it is unseen job. It takes time, and no one can see how much effort has to be put into it, however when you have a match on Saturday and on Thursday still no scores??? :)

Results for FRPC Level II

The results are being calculated and should be posted shortly. The statistician, a volunteer, was away for his work.

I agree it's frustrating but sometimes things happen in life to delay the scores.
All help in any form is appreciated. The more the better!
I find I check several times a day until they are posted so I know how you feel.
But having been on the other end and had issues that delayed them, I understand both sides.

Cheers!

Excellent match - as usual.

Thanks Bernie.

Getting people to patch can be a PITA, but when I RO, JohnC too, we call for patchers.

The only people that shouldn't be patching are the guy's that's just shot and the next shooter PERIOD!

Mostly it's not too bad but you do have to jump on people at times.

Remember, without YOUR help, the matches won't continue.

Frontenac Level II in Kingston

Some people in this sport should seroiously consider a change of venue, like joining a Golf Club, where you show up, pay your dues, play your game, have your drink and leave the place to the hired help to take care of. It might be hard to believe, but some people have a job and a life beside IPSC. As a regular volunteer, not just an occasionnal one, I take exception to participants like Peter Pan, who b****d about the Quebec Provincial results, and now does the same about the Frontenac match. My friend, you are in for a rude awakening if you ever really get into officiating and helping at matches on a regular basis. The world keeps on turning even if the results are not published immediately, they will not change with time!!! Competitors that show up at matches and don't work that match should only be heard saying: ''Thank you for allowing me the opprtunity to shoot!''. My two cents worth!!!
