I can's seem to find much info on the new Imperial Defense Ar's listed on Frontiers webpage as "coming soon"

A quick Google search found Imperial Defense ...but they don't state which of their items they've 'procured from outside sources' or made themselves.

Anyone know when these babies are coming in? Or what to expect?

Well Done Frontier!!!

If they are assembled in UK, where are the parts coming from?
And what are the specs?

Aren't they imported by North Sylva?

This following information copied from another forum so cannot confirm if valid.

Q: Do IDS manufacture these Carbines and Rifles or do you produce them from parts suppled by other manufacturers?
A: EVERYTHING MADE BY US APART FROM THE GAS RINGS ON THE BOLT AND FIXED STOCKS ON THE FULL SIZE M16A3.

Q: Are the barrels hammer forged?
A:YES

Q: Does the chamber handle and cope with pressure for the Black Hills 77 gr Sierra Match King (Mark262 Mod 0)
A: NEVER TRIED BUT CAN'T SEE ANY REASON WHY NOT AS THEY ALL PASS U.K. PROOF TESTING.

Q: Do they com with Vortex Flash eliminators?
A: WE ONLY MAKE THE STANDARD (LATEST STYLE) BIRDCAGE FLASH HIDERS.

Q: Will you be producing a 6.8 x43mm variant?
A:NO

Q: Does the Bolt come with the Extractor O ring spring?
A: ON THE MG4A6 MODELS.

Q: Is the recoil buffer a standard or hydraulic and are they H2 or 2 buffers for the carbine?
A: STANDARD BUFFER WITH DIFFERENT WEIGHTS ACCORDING TO MODEL.

Q: Which manufacturer do you get the picatinny rail from are they Mil STD 1913?
A: MAKE OURSELVES.

Q: What is the price for the individual units?
A: GB500 EACH

.

Why even bother talking about them if they will be $1600+
Just about everything else is cheaper....Stag, Armalite, RRA, Bushmaster...

Is it because you can get a shorter barrel???

Actually once the reality of the higher $US starts affecting the new imports from the US, the US made stuff will be about the same price. Also you are going to get a collapsable stock, bayonet lug and short barrel stock so no need to pay for upgrades. They look like a bargain to me.

For that very reason we have with held the price until they are in. We have a very limited order that will not last long. This is not an exclusive import for us. We are one of many dealers who will be handling this product. However I would advise anyone interested, the 10.5" models will not last long. If you can find one thru your local dealer, jump on it like a liberal jumps on tax payers money.

Yeah, but you can find allot of info on the Sabre Defence AR's such as the fact that the uppers and lowers are matched at the factory in the UK to get a better fit over milspec. U.S. stuff, so you should expect a higher price because of obvious QC improvements..Personally I'd spend a couple hundred more on a quality UK built (anything) over a generic poorly fit (anything) with the same purpose...the exact reason I can't see the value in Cheap Walmart crap.

WICKED ! thanks to frontier for bringing these in .. will have to wait to see the prices though. i am interested in the 10.5.
like redleg said . you can get the american stuff if you like the way we are getting them here. long barrels fixed stocks. . i myself would love to have a short barrel and tele stock and threaded not fixed flash hinders.

please keep us posted on when these are coming in.. what sorta time frame we looking at ? and do you plan on these being less $ than the sabres ?
