Hello all.Has anyone replace the front sight assembly on their CZ.I have one on the rifle with the "ears, wings" and would like to put on the one I got with the spare parts kit which fully encloses the front sight like the HK style. Anyone know which way the two locating pins come out before I start "Hammer time"

The pins are straight, just hammer them out.

When you drive the front pin out the spring and detent that retain the muzzle nut will fly out. A piece of tape around the front of the sight base will keep them off the floor.

Sorry for the derailment, but is there some way to adjust the front sight left or right without the tool?. Mine came way off to the left from the factory.wtf.

Anytime.:)

Brass punch and a hammer. Make sure you support the front sight base/barrel end on something solid.

Thanks Stevo. I tried, but did not want to hit it that hard, I will try agiain, it is in there very tight.

Yep.I bent my cheap sight tool on one of mine.Just remember to support the area around the sight and use a hammer that has some substance to it.

The Magna-Matic front sight tool is the best one I've come across. Much stronger than the C-type tool. Neit carries them.

When I drifted mine over I drilled a hole in a block of wood. Then layed the sight on the wood with the hole lined up so the other end of the pin has somewhere to go. A piece of rag with a matching hole layed between the wood and sight base halps too. Side question: if you remove the front post assembly like the OP asked, can you re-install it straighter? My assembly leans to the right so I had to drift my sight block over to compensate. Thnx ( Stevo lol )

Yes, you can make it straighter without re-drilling the holes. At least I could on my CSA.

I drove the pins out, wrapped the front sight with a rag, and used an adjustable wrench slid on from the bottom to turn it. I lined it up with a string extending from the rear sight notch and over the casting line on the gas block.

Once I had it lined up, I re-installed the pins, trying not to move the base too much. I didn't get it perfect the first time, but it was close enough so that I could move the post over about half of what it was originally deflected. I may try again to get it perfectly centered, but I've got a pretty good sight picture now that I can live with.

Does anyone (stevo lol) know why they come like that from the factory? Why would the sight not be centered originally.? Why not supply a proper centering tool with the gun?
Im afraid to whack the hell out of it and somehow create damage. I will use the block and rag with hammer and punch. If it doesnt feel right , then I will just wait and order the proper tool. It is a shame because it will likely only be used once.

Why was the front sight base canted? Good question My CSA carbine came zeroed, IE the sight post was way off center in the canted base. It was quite obvious the sight base was canted.

IMO, canted sight bases were not an issue to the manufacturer so they shipped it that way.

As long as you support the sight base, the worst you will do is knock the paint off the sight drum when correcting the windage.

Thanks Stevo. Mines out just enough keep me up at night lol

LOL. Mine bothered me a lot too. The iron sight picture was horrible.

I got the instructions on how to fix it from Dan at CzechPoint in the US.
