Have you found much difference between the 2?I know Tubbs likes the 4350 for his guns.
Didn't know that, They must be the only production 6BR rifles? Very smart of Savage. Do they shoot?
Well that's the route I will tell people that want to get into the game. Get the Savage in the 6BR, Avoid the 6.5-284.
Ian you could have a bunch of barrels chambered up and ready for guys that are ready for the upgrade. Savage head spacing system would make it very easy to do.

As the rookie/newbie who showed up to my first ever 300m shoot, equipped with the Savage 10FP factory rifle, choate stock and Falcon optics and shooting from the prone for the first time since uniform days 20 + years ago let me share my thoughts:
Firstly + most importantly every single person I spoke with was superb - I had so much advice and guidance that, as I said to Mark " I would have paid the entrance fee just for the opportunity to talk with the shooters ". People were exceptionally generous with their time and gave me tips that led to a steady improvement in the strings I shot over the two days.
Secondly - re discouragement, I didn't feel discouraged one iota. I expected to shoot bottom of the pack and went with the mindset of "I'm here to learn" which I did ( bottom of the pack and learning ! ). Rather than be discouraged, I was enthused. Yes, if I choose to buy better equipment, it is available but even without buying more gear I know that with practice, improvement to reloading skills and some inexpensive tweaking to my rifle I can do much better.
Honestly, this was a great weekend - thanks to everyone for making me feel so very welcome.

Quite a few of us were running Nightforce BR 12-42x56
Some run Leupold, Bushnell, etc...
The scope of choice at the moment seems to be the NF BR Scopes.
Tomochan has it right- everyone was very welcoming, very encouraging, and very helpful. Definately worth the price of admission for this newbie. As for a scope, I was using the Vortex Viper 6.5-20X44 with the BDC Dead Hold reticle. I found the cross hairs to be a tad too thick, but I got a tip on how to get around that from the powderkeg today: put the aim point in the corner where the 2 lines cross, say, the upper left corner for example. I'll have to try it out. Anyway, I love the scope, and the price was right as was the warranty.
2 more newbies hooked....mission acclomplished 
Steve, we will be starting our Winter League here in December sometime.
We shoot every Sunday from 10AM until we are done (usually around 2:00 depending on how many come out and how many trips are needed to warm up in the shack).
We all put in $5 to the pot each week which nets us a nice bar lunch at the end of the season and a Hat (some of which you probably saw this past weekend).
Course of fire is 2 -2 & 10 Strings, Pull target for 2 strings, shoot 2 more 2 & 10 strings, pull target for 2 strings. (Or vice versa)

Stevebc - You too! You kicked @ss for a first-go-around and it was good to see a new face! I trust we will see you at the matches next season! You also make an excellent point about your scope and it is a common problem as not all scopes make good target scopes. Me, the smaller the dot and the finer the crosshairs the better.

Thanks Richard, I've pretty much settled on the NF 8-32 BR for my upcoming rifle, just trying to decide what reticle. I'd love to use the NP-R1, but since that isn't available am trying to decide between the NP-2DD and the NP-R2.

Yup... NP-2DD fer sher!!!
I have 2 - 12-42x56 BR's with the NP-2DD's in them and would not give them up for anything.
I also have a 5.5-22x56 with the NP-1RR reticle. Some say it's too busy, but when your concentrated on the gophers head (Or X-Ring) you don't even see the other stuff in it.

Tempting... but I'm not a member and honestly can't afford to be one. Even if I could, it's an hour away from me. If I could compete from time to time in the winter matches, would I be able to do so on a "drop-in" basis?
I'm a member at Mission and getting out to a match will be a long drive from DT Vancouver but worth every minute !!
