Given that it was acceptable to take new, never assembled, selective fire VZ58 receivers, remanufacture them to semi auto, and then assemble restricted and non-restricted rifles on them, there should be no legal reason why Pakistani parts should not be acceptable for a semi auto MG-42.

The real hurdle would be determining the size of the market, and comparing this with the costs involved. The Cdn. market would only absorb a limited number of units.

With the barrel length it would obviously be non restricted, so why send it to the RCMP for approval ? Who needs their approval ?
 
I suspect that the powers that be are pondering what to do now that there is no need to register non-restricted firearms.
 
I will go on record that if I owned a CA MG42 that is now and forevermore a safe queen due to our f,d up gun laws and someone made a semi only receiver and the knowledge to rewrk the internals I would be on that in a heart beat.
 
you can get 80% receivers (mg42) in the US . IT WILL HAVE TO FIRE FROM A CLOSED BOLT. other wise if it is ever at the lab, they will manipulate it to fire full auto.(short stroke)
you might win in court but still lose the firearm.
