Frustrated 10/22 parts hunter

ya know thats strange.
i have built 3 ruger 10/22 builds this winter and i have had no problems getting anything so far.
i picked up 2 hogue overmolded stocks and 1 boyd evolution.
i picked up a brand new ruger 10/22 at the local hardware store when everyone was on here screaming that there where none in canada.
i was able to order barrels and trigger groups and everything for all of them, never had to do much looking around either.

i think that all this 'sky is falling' about shortages and such is bull.
i went into a local store and could hardly get down the isle due to all the crates of ammo that where stacked in there, yet all i read are posts about shortages.
i was told on here that there are no Ruger SR1911's for sale new at any store, yet i ordered one this week and its in the mail already on its way to me.

i think for the ruger 10/22 stuff what you need to do is find yourself a good supplier that you like and carries the stuff you want and your golden.
a co-worker of mine liked my Ruger 10/22 tack pusher build so he went out last week and picked up a brand new 10/22 at the local hardware store then ordered a hogue stock and all the trimmings. and i consider him to be computer illiterate.
yet he was able to get all the items he wanted in under a hour.

i was in at mil-arm last week and they had a tonne of Volq parts.
was over at Cabela's and they had tonnes of everything.

We would love to see your three builds any chance of posting some pictures?

In our area its not bull, in the states its not bull, local walmarts shelves empty, CTCs empty, local dealers can't get anything from importers. Buddy went to Texas and Ohio same thing.

Consider yourself lucky. Would love a number for your local hardware store.

Looking for target ammo can't get any alot of us are hoping north Sylva is able to get restocked as they are our main importer around here.

Your big problem is buying in Canada....

10/22 parts are easy to get.....

As for KIDD products Jo Brook Firearms will hook you up... Fabsports is a waste of time....

the one is still being done (boyd evolution stock with a Dlask 8" and TS comp - still trying to decide if i wanna go the last 10% and get the trigger and compensator and scope rings colored to match the stock)

the 2nd one is over AT Dlask becaue i got the barrel stuck and had to send it to him to get my mistake fixed.

last one is up on the 10/22 post stickied at the top.

hopefully all three will be in the sticked post within the next week or 2.

still mulling over making a bull pup one.
but three is probably enough.
...... or is it?

I have been finding cci sv is a little sparse but no shortage of blazer 525 at 24 bucks ! I also just got my fedderson barrel ! Had to wait 3 months but at 240 importation fees and taxes in there's no complaints here !

Up north, I would love for you to tell me where you can find a new bull brl hogue stock right now, your computer eliterate friend got real lucky. I found a good used one from a fellow cgn'er. I think I found a Kidd bolt but no receiver yet. Been waiting over 2 months now for my timney drop in trigger. I had to wait quite a while for wanstalls to get more tactical solutions barrels in. I think you can find parts for a build, but if your set on exactly what you want like I am, your going to have to do some hunting. It will all be that much more rewarding when I finally blast some gophers with it. (if the snow ever melts here in sask)

I emailed Hogue and they responded that they do not ship rifle stocks to Canada anymore. I emailed them asking why and haven't heard back. I got my LGS to order a ghillie tan stock from them, it's going to run me 124.99 but at least I'll get it before bird season.
