time to give up the calling and get out stalking

Yep, I searched pre-season. I was only able to go in late August and not closer to the opening date. Six weeks is along time and the moose adjusted their habits.
I am grateful to get outside each time and do learn something new each time. I might appear to be crying in my beer, but that was not my intention. I was just looking for pointers from those who are generous enough to share and have more experience than me. I would like to thank those who have replied with their advice.

Go out at night - stop and listen. You should hear the moose cows and bulls calling a bit (during the rutt anyway). If you hear them - make a few calls. Then be right there in the morning.

Do you know how to call moose?
