Frustrated with my CSA VZ58 rifle... Help/Suggestions?

So I recently bought a CSA VZ58 rifle in 7.62x39.

I bought the M4 style stock version since I want to add a Magpul CTR stock and a MAD Hook point for a rifle sling.

Issue is with the M4 version I simply cannot get my head down low enough for good use of the iron sights. I believe the original folding/wood stock has a much lower shoulder position to make iron sights easier to use.

I do want the inline M4 stock. Is there any way to keep it a straight line ( not angled ) but lower the line.

Anyone know if the StormWerkz will work with the CSA rifle and M4 stock just allowing it to be mounted lower?

Also the stock keeps coming loose... The castle nut keeps coming loose then the buffer tube is loose. I got it tight once but after my shooting session today it is loose again.

This is a great rifle. No failures in the first 250 rounds. It is a keeper for sure.

Biggest issue is how to keep the straight line but get the stock low enough that I can run the irons.

I am a big and tall kinda guy. That might be part of the issue with the sights.

is it the FAB recoil reducing stock? i have that setup on one of mine and need it extended out a way to get a good sight line. it should NOT be coming loose at all

The Stormwerkz will work on the CSA, or get the Rauch adapter like swsglock suggested. You might have to stake the castle nut to keep it from loosening? I actually just ordered the tube from Corwin, because I liked how overbuilt it looks, and it seems like it will be the most compact when collapsed, but it's not straight line like you want.

As above, use this adapter click with your AR buffer tube.

Are you using a proper wrench on the castle nut ? Maybe a touch of blue Loc-tite would be the cure...?

The stormwerkz needs the multi height part and a new threaded mount for the buffer tube?

The Canam version is just one part to get?

NEA made a version?

Any of them work with a Magpul MS3 sling?

I would get the Rauch/CanAm one over the Stormwerkz, just for the fact that it's already north of the border, and it comes with everything you need. In order to get multi-height, and AR tubes, you'd have to buy two Stormwerkz adapters, like you said. The Rauch also comes with an ambi sling mount built in.

NEA made/makes one, but you would have to try it out and see if the height is what you are looking for? It might not be much better than your existing setup (I can't comment as I haven't tried it).

Why is everyone is so obsessed with being able to use irons? Just curious because I've been running a straight m4 tube and magpul ctr on mine with an Eotech red dot on the front handguard and have never thought of going back to irons once. It's backwards IMO, a red dot is light years ahead in speedy target acquisition and you can use it in low light etc. plus it looks cool. And for all the guys that say oh what happens if your battery dies? Change it lol not like you need to do it very often with thousands of hours of battery life

The basic concept is what you eluded to with the battery, if the optic fails (in any way) you are left with a club.

^^^ exactly ^^^

Until I can use the irons comfortably I won't move ahead with my mods. For me irons are a must have backup. Electronics fail. Irons don't. Short of wrecking the rifle the irons will still be there.

Because electronics are expensive and they fail.

Martin,

Will that tube work with the sling adapter plate, or will it make the attaching point off and loose?

Yes and I suppose 99 percent of us use our vz rifles in daily combat where 100% reliability is of the utmost importance...

Nope. I don't right now. Doesn't mean someday that I won't need to...

The rifle doesn't fit my guidlines at the moment. If it fits someone else's that's fine. I want a rifle to train with and part of that is planning for a darker tomorrow... My views don't make my concern/question unreasonable.
