FS2000 and 10 round RRA mags

you and I should talk

There's some famous case that all the tax lawyers you will talk to quote, basically some guy in Ontario had all his stuff in storage at a lockup, and his DL hadn't expired yet although he was living outside the country, and the court ruled that he was still resident for tax purposes.

Basically you have to have no connection whatsoever to Canada to avoid being resident for tax purposes, no DL, no residency, no bank account, zip. I had a look into it because I thought it might be a good idea to try and move my residency to Washington or Nevada for tax purposes. But because of the 183 day rule in the US, you can't stay there forever, and as soon as you step foot in Canada basically with any intent to live in Canada you are subject to Canadian tax.

The US and Canada have such a long relationship for tax purposes that any loophole you can dream up has long since been plugged, at least on paper. Trust me, it's simpler to move to Alberta, set up a corporation and avoid taxes that way. :D

But it's why everyone is moving to Belize.

And then you get hit with the 5-year exit rule. I think "jealously guard" is the understatement of the century as far as the CRA goes.
