I think the question are intended for Stevo, but in my case yes I can take the rail off without removing the gas block (obviously!), but (not shown on pic in 1st post) I had to shave off the bayonet lug and the sling swivel ears. The setup shown on this pic is the carbine length shaved gas block with a FF Troy 13.8 rail.

If that was for me, then yes, I can.

The YHM FF tubes have lots of clearance inside so you can spin any length of tube.

So ive started to dremel off the front sight.

Magpul mbus set on the way. Will see how the carbine length looks, might chage it up for a longer one.
