FSN rifles/ Marstar misinformation

Am I missing something?...all the FSN rifles list as instock to me when I was just looking at them...

if you believe that then you should give yours to scianna and you can be patient .

do i hear yes? :D :stirthepot2:

I'll give you a maybe. If my CC payment is too high. I might not be able to keep it. Plus, Wolverine said their carbines should be in by the end of the month. $100 more but that model might have a built in rail.

Nobody dialed zero or did I miss something?

Marstar's own John is the one who is often cooking up stuff and hyping up people.

He is obviously doing that even more to his own employees and make them look even more dumb than his customers.

I have to add that my communication by phone with both him, his wife and his employees are always friendly and forthcoming but I will never slime up to him to get a gun.

Bought another gun yesterday I had my eye on for a while from one of the sponsors who is no BS, straight forward honest person and a pleasure to deal with.

I guess it's not me.

Nice. Coupled with the vaporware M-14Bs this is yet another reason I will never deal with Marstar again.

I am always sad when I hear things like this.... We bust our butt trying to get stuff here on time....
In the case of the M-14 rifles, first there was a 4 month delay in shipping the rifles,

Then the Pacific games in October which prohibed the movement any any firearms from late September until early December....

So yes we are late, please offer us a solution to this problem, we will gladly pay for your expertise....

However you are perfectly whitin your rights to choose to shop elsewhere, I am certain that any one of the many dealers we supply will be pelase to sell you one once they arrive.

Your pissed, and we get it. However, the reality is John has only two options.

1) He can continue as he has, promoting product and stiring up demand prior to arrival. The upside for him is larger sales potential overall. The downside is broken hearts and bruised ego's when shipping delays and customs issues creep up.

2) He can keep his mouth shut until the product is in the wearhouse. The upside for him is no customer headaches. The downside for the customer is likely increased prices and decreased numbers.

I'm hoping John has a thick skin and continues as he has. The net result is more fun gear landed in Canada.

hahah, yes!

I can't believe the sense of entitlement on here sometimes. People don't understand how complicated and expensive it is to get firearms and parts into the country, or into production. It isn't as simple as clicking the "checkout" button on a website - there are reams of paperwork from multiple countries, red tape hoops to jump through and customs/brokerage/transport fees to pay. We should be grateful that we have businesses and people as adventurous and persistent as Marstar and others who have brought us so many interesting and fun firearms over the years.

But it's the internet, so people would rather complain from the safety of their basement.

Just buy a restricted used VZ-58 and have the barrel cut, same old, same old, can't see a difference other than a new name.

Cutting a barrel on a restricted VZ would make it prohibited. You have to buy a newly manufactured barrel and have it cut to your specifications and installed. 11" for example. The cost would be pretty much the same as buying the new short barrel versions that are being offered, if you can get a good deal on a used one.

That's right. All us grovelling worms are not entitled to the time of day. Us despicable and irritating underlings should be more than grateful for the scraps that we get from monoliths much better than ourselves.

It is very nice that John goes out of his way to turn a profit.
So do other dealers, such as CanAm.
The difference is that CanAm does not have the better than you attitude.
CanAm goes through all the exact same siht, that John goes through, yet he will not piss on you for asking certain questions.

Clearly Scieanne was miffed enough by what had transpired to make a post about it. Namely, that Marstar has internal communications issues. I can attest to this. I ordered two restricteds from Marstar a month back or so and Marstar shipped them to my CFO mailing address (other side of the GTA) during the long week-end. This was Thursday, the earliest I got in touch with the CFO was the following Tuesday (talk about entitlement :D). I picked them up Wednesday, that's a whole week for one minor albeit stupid mistake on Marstar's part. I sent an email to John and never got a response back, so I swallowed my very mild frustration and moved on. But yes, who cares about us little entitled people?:HR:

It is the minor things that a company does that makes them stand out. Take CanAm or Badger Arms. They will bend over backwards to make things right if they f'ed up. Perhaps they are new companies that are not as salty as Marstar is. Having an old and established track record does not excuse a dealer from treating customers like people.

What are you supposing? That people here should feel unsafe posting in the dealer forums?

1895GS; "I ordered two restricteds from Marstar a month back or so and Marstar shipped them to my CFO mailing address (other side of the GTA) during the long week-end."

I would like to apologize for following the law, which by the way is very SPECIFIC, in that all restricted firearms MUST be shipped to the address on the PAL or the CFC records.
BTW, how did we get that address if you did not give it to us ?

John

Marstar called me and told me that there was a problem with my order since the CFO was confused about my address.

I confirmed both addresses with the lady from Marstar and I had emphasized that the items should be shipped to my home address which is different from my CFO mailing address. If the fact could dumbfound a government bureaucracy I suppose Marstar was also liable to such confusion.:D

Sadly, the item went to my CFO mailing address. No biggie.
Yes the law is clear about STATTs and other such non sense that's why it took a week for the CFO to get unconfused.

1895GS;
I can understand your frustration, however we MUST follow the instructions of the CFC/CFO.
Please do not make it seem like this was neglect on our behalf.
John
