Hi Guys,

I have a 12.5" Norc HP9 that I originally bought as a beater, my issue is I want a reliable beater.

It has 458 rounds through it. Of those 31 have been Seller & Bellot 2 5/8 Reduced Recoil slugs.

I have 3 stoppages (FTE) that require a tool (usually a knife), 10% failure rate is totally unacceptable.

The shell is stuck after being fired and will not extract.

Some of the potential causes? I can think of two, poor chamber, crappy extractor.

These shells run like clockwork in my Benelli m4.

What are my options? Besides stripping the expensive stuff off onto an 870P.

- Clean and polish the chamber.
- Proper tension on the extractor.
- Extractor slot in barrel undamaged and clean.
- Breech face of barrel battered.

you can send it to Casey at Tac-Ord for a polish job and P extractor. It probably just needs the chamber polished though.

polish the chamber.

It's not a diagnostic mystery. Hulls stuck in a shotgun chamber is cured by pollishing the chamber. It's a cheap and easy fix.

wooden dowel. deck screw in the end. wrap in 0000 steel wool. Chuck the head of the screw in drill but don't crank it tight so you can get some wiggle. Slather some oil on the steel wool and run it into the chamber pumping it in and out. I add some green stropping paste for a second pass.
