Full AR kit (minus the lower)?

Hello there.

Who sells decent AR kits? Bought a lower because of C71, but I cannot stand to see it as a paperweight.

Looking for decent (but not too expensive) kits. If possible, I'd like to have the old, Vietnam-era M16 looks (full buttstock and triangle-shaped handguard), but I am willing to forego that, if it's too expensive.

Thanks a bunch!

Most dealers sell complete uppers and they also have lower parts kit, you'll have to choose a couple of other bits and pieces such as the stock assembly but that can also be purchased as a package.

Vietnam rep are pretty expensive and not so easy to source the parts, I'd personally go a different route if you don,t wish to spend a lot.

You can start by looking at TrueNorthArms website, you'll find pretty much all you need at good price. If you want/need higer end component, like said, most forum sponsors carry em.

Check out Nordic Marksman if you want to try your hand at an old school C8. They get uppers in and for the most part have all the lower parts like 2-position buffer tubes and LPK's.

Not for the faint of heart though, my last order from them to complete my lower was $600+.

One thing I forgot to add. I also need literature/tools to assemble the thing. Do those stores which sell the kits also sell books/tools? And which tools should I get?

If you're close to Edmonton I can help you put it together. I have all the tools needed and have built a few over the last few years.
They're pretty simple as long as you buy quality milspec parts so everything fits together nicely.

Phoenix, P&D, and Tier One Armoury in Edmonton all sell lower parts kits.
I like the ERGO LPK that Tier One sells, it comes with everything other than the trigger which saves you some money if you're planning to upgrade the trigger. No need to pay for a crappy gritty milspec trigger just to replace it in a month.
If you want a nice trigger without spending a bunch of money the ALG ACT is a really nice trigger for just over $100. ALG is made by Geissele so quality is high. I have a couple of them in my rifles.

That's very generous of you, thanks. I am in Edmonton.

PM me when you've got all your parts and we'll arrange a time to put it together.
