Full choke to Mod

Have a pair of shotguns that are fixed full, would like to make them fixed mod.

anyone know a smith that can do this? cost?

Anyone who is actually gunsmithing should be able to do this. I would say it would cost $40 up to maybe $75......

I opened up a nice full choke Belgium Auto-5 and lost one of the best trap guns I ever had, shot my first 25 with that one... still brings a tear to me eye.

I only do chrome-moly steel not chrome lined and it is usually $40 per choke. Long forcing cone alteration is also usually $40 per barrel.

Ellwood Epps's shop did an AYA SxS for me a couple years ago both barrels were under $100.

Alrighty, excuse the rookie question, but how do I tell the difference?

Most Italian shotguns are chrome lined. The easiest way to check is to clean inside the muzzle real well and very lightly rub an area with 400 grit wet or dry paper and then appy some cold blue. If it is chrome lined the 400 grit will not have done any damage and the cold blue will do nothing. It is is chrome moly the 400 grit will have prepared the surface for the cold blue and the blue will affect the steel right away. The 400 grit will not have harmed anything in either case.
