I'm entranced... must... be... first on my block with the gold M14.

And if it doesn't fit... It will fit!

Even if it fits, you gotta wonder how long until that body made of melted-down hot wheels blows up in your face...

Shack, my bad, I'm not going to get the full thing, just the stock. But I've sent a question asking 'how accurate a reproduction' that is, 'is any measurement different from the real ones'.

Also entranced by their 870 stuff...

Anyway Sniper1 got a KAC rail from them and it fit fine, he said it was a tiny bit small, but nothing noticeable. Material wasn't noticeably weaker, perhaps aluminum slightly softer but only internet speculations.

Oh, forget about it. It's $550 from a shop in Oregon, and probably won't fit. If it was $200 then maybe, but $550 no way.

Nahhh, for that price you can get the Marstar one which is for sure going to work.

Airsoft makes toy guns. The plastic and pot metal parts are not made to take the recoil of real firearms. Most Airsoft stuff is illegal anyway. As daft as it sounds. They're considered to be replicas.
"...'how accurate a reproduction'..." A reproduction of what?

I didn't get the full kit, but I've got one of these coming. Sniper1 had success with his. I looked and their $90-100 in HongKong, so $140 in the US + $20 shipping (post, not UPS or FedEx) isn't bad. And if it doesn't fit and I don't break it, it's recoverable.

True, there are different types of aluminum alloys, but I suspect that everyone uses varieties of 6061, O (softer), T3, T6 (tempered, hardest). They make these things by extruding them (well that's how they make ladders and picatinny rails, so I assume...), then machining them.

Numbers are here: even the 'softer' stuff is pretty durable. "General 6061 characteristics and uses: Excellent joining characteristics, good acceptance of applied coatings. Combines relatively high strength, good workability, and high resistance to corrosion; widely available. The T8 and T9 tempers offer better chipping characteristics over the T6 temper."

Is there any other info or pics of people that have used airsoft rails on their guns?
had one ade by Gaurder (KAC replica)... had a real KAC and replica side by side and they are almost 100% identical. Had no problems with my replica's fit and function and cost me about $500 less.

Plus the top cover is cheap tinny plastic anyway, it's not like an airsoft rail is downgrading anything!

The only downside I'm imagining could be that the slots in the handguard cause mirage to interfere with sighting after a while.

guarder

I had a guarder RAS and it worked fine.

I sold it cause my scope changed.

My only gripe would be that the side screw that secures the rail to the receiver does not secure nicely. You will need to create/jimmy an adapter or find a screw with a shoulder in it + use lock-tite....

Now that I also like the idea of sleek... the RAS was large and bulky... did not weigh much but was not small and if you dont need to hang a ton of stuff from an already 10 LB rifle then the RAS mgiht not be your best choice.... a scout mount will work better and be ALOT smaller and will probably secure nicer than the RAS....

If I wanted a forward mounting optic I would use a SCOUT MOUNT!!!!

The RAS works with some 'fitting effort' it is large and bulky..... Lots of rail - really only practical if you need to mount everything from it.... Also, once you mount 5 LB from the rail you may find new problems from that rail.....
