anyone know where you can go to shoot FA near Vegas? i think the place was called Area 51 guns or something like that? Not looking for the places in town, thanks.

Wasn't there some group in Vegas that would treat you to a full day of full auto shooting, including ammo, absolutely free....they just wanted you to listen to their "pitch" about some kooky religion or some such thing?

I went to the gun store when I was down in Vegas. It was fun! Great guys, lots of cool guns to hold onto that you can't normally even see here. FN 5-7 was one I liked.

Enough misinformation on Front Sight. They do NOT offer a free full auto session. They did. It was wildly popular, but it served its purpose, which was to attract customers, and it got so they were using up their cadre running the freebie when they needed the cadre to run the school. Worked, I'd say. And as for the scientolgy crap, KevinB, I'm assuming you speak from personal experience? Because in my four days there, I heard nothing about any religion.

Oh, we got the sales pitch alright, as well as a couple of the best lectures I've ever heard about when to shoot, and what to do after a shoot, as well as first hand examples of the color code awareness system. But I'll tell you what. I'll listen real close next month when I'm there again to see if there is a hint of religious propaganda.

From the support they give to, and receive from the JFPO, I somehow doubt the owner is Scientologist, but that would just be a guess, becasue it never came up.

There certainly does seem to be something up with Front Sight and Scientology. Google those terms up together and you will be inundated with a mess of links about them.

Checked out Front Sight and the various Google references...most interesting. On the "positive" side, it would seem that FS is more of a business than a cult, given that their two-day courses (not including accommodation or ammunition) run to $600 American. The weirdness would seem to come in when established "members" sell certificates giving half or more off these courses to members of the public. The ongoing development of the "safest place (fortified compound?) in America" with their own K-12 school, convenience store etc. gives me the heebie-jeebies.

FRONTSITE - they run Free SMG classes - as long as you listen to their shpeel on their property sales scheme and sceintology stuff...

Did the aliens blown up in the volcanoes not know how to use their SMG's?

I shot at the Gun Store in Vegas last summer

i did the ak-47 at the osama bin labin target

goes pretty fast and 50 rounds is about 40-50 bucks cdn

make sure to mention the 5 dollars off coupon on the website

have fun!

ykkid,

Yeah I've been there...
They are a business first anf foremost and their classes are typically more expensive than other faciltiies.
Poor school from experince of instructors - not to pound chests - but my CV is deeper than the entire cadre's at least as of two years ago.
The do run a free one day SMG class - not all the time but enough that you could plan a trip to Vegas to hit it.

If you look beyond the site - the owner Dr (of what?) Ignais Piazza's is a Scientologist - and his cult he is amasing is a little unnerving - but heck with a few hundred K US you could live in THE most pro gun country in the US.

Piazza was a chiropractor.
