I bore easily with store bought/conventional stuff. Years ago I built an MP5 Navy wannabe chassis for my 10/22. It was kinda cool and shot well. But, recently I started to see the limitations as a squirrel gun because the scope centre was over 3" above the bore. The drop at different distances was greater than the size of a squirrels head. SO I wanted to build a compact, yet fun squirrel killer with low mounted scope. After some thought, I stole some parts from the MP5 and started a build. This is a stock 10/22 with wooden stock that I cut off and attached a custom built (on my mill) aluminum tail stock. The paint on the stock is rattlecan flat Rustoleum. The decals were made on my vinyl plotter. I also 3d printed a small mag extension that is currently being finished. Anyhow, I went from this:

Nothing crazy just a fun week long project.

Rattlecans and a vinyl printer to make the Kryptek like design. I was pleased with the results. In fact, I might do the scope next since it’s an old klunker that was laying around.

It’s actually pretty decent for that low mounted scope. I moved the scope ahead as the stock is a bit shorter now. I will likely add a very think cheek piece as the steel is a bit cold at times.
