Hey guys.
My local shooting club is looking for ideas to bring more people out for some fun shooting competitions. Somethings that would work for people of all skills and to have fun with. Something that could involve centerfire and rimfire shooters.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Also not to complicated to organize would be a bonus!

Thanks

Not specifically competitions, but the club I'm a member of is going to have a general public 5 gun. Essentially for $10 the general public comes to the range and there are 5 "stages" where they will learn the firearm and get to shoots some targets. They don't have to be PAL holders.
Some static IPSC style targets for 9mm pistol, 22lr rifle, 223 AR, and a 50-75M rifle & some clay launchers with a 20ga. 5-10 shots each. It's pretty easy to setup, just have 5 RO's at different ranges and a few people meeting them at the gate with a table setup, to explain how things work / register them / take their money.
Each person gets a cardboard card with 6 numbers on it (with the club name & date on it) and when they complete the stage the number gets hole punched.

All the profits goes to a local charity so you can usually get some free advertising on radio / newspapers. Have membership business' sponsor stages or put their banner up in support of the sporting community, pays for ammo + targets.
Have a BBQ (that's the 6th number for drink + hotdog or hamburger. ask local grocery store for discount + advertising), everyone leaves happy. Run it for 3-4 hours max unless you're in a highly populated area.

It's a win-win for promoting our shooting sports. If you have a small turnout, well then.. you have leftovers. :)

I have pieced together a small plate rack and the other steel plates for NSSF Rimfire Challenge for the kids in my 4-H club. Complete Rimfire Challenge guide on the NSSF website.

The Salmon Arm club glues string to eggs and hangs them from 50 to 200 yards. Inexpensive and one hell of a challenge. I think they call it the Easter egg shoot.
