Fun day at my gunrange

Yet you keep admitting to illegal activities.
Two 15 year olds without full PALs unsupervised.

Can't you read?

Im sorry if i upset anybody with my post, i was just sharing a fun experience i had.. and in no way was it illegal, the birds in question, "black birds" and barn swallows that i know of, are not a game bird there about the size of a small apple and we both have hunting lisences and we both had permission to shoot and we were being supervised. AND IN NO WAY DID ANY OF US SHOOT INTO THE AIR WITH A .22 RIM FIRE * I CLEARLY WROTE THAT MY FRIEND HAD HIS BERETTA URIKA *12GAUGE* (which is a shotgun by the way).

How about apologizing to Dean, and maybe he won't lay one on your other cheek......:p

They were probably Grackles, which are Corvids but aren't "Crows".

Nice to see a thread from a newer shooter that is not like this:

How many trigger locks should I have on my single shot cooey? I Have one on the trigger and one on the end of the barrel, which is stored in a seperate building, But I think I might need one on the sling swivel. I couldn't find anything pertaining to this on the CFC website 'cause they really don't know the law.

Someday I would love to start a thread about a fun day at my gunrange

At aboy Dean-1911. Lots of skim readers that fill in any "between the lines " with there own speculation. I don't see anything wrong & no laws broke. Spelling is just a way of communicating- if your message gets through, it worked. Keep having fun & injoy a sport that can last a lifetime. AJ

huh, imagine that, someone shot a bird before they had the appropriate licenses...call in the national guard. Cause no one else here did that.

For such a large site with such a good name in the internet community, it sure can be pretty unwelcoming. Now that this thread made it look as though he robbed a bank will shooting innocent little birds, who's giving us the bad name??

I will admit that Dean's original post had me on the side of the "somewhat concerned" people here, but after reading his clarification I am happy to say I was wrong.

Like some other people here, I interpreted his original post as some underage shooters going out alone, shooting anything that moved (including birds out of the air). Some key details (like the adult being present) were missing in the earlier post and we filled those in with assumptions.

I would like to apologize for assuming the worst based on his original post, and am happy to see that his followup post set everything right.

there you go folks. i highlighted the parts that many people seem to have missed. you know, just in case you're reading glasses aren't strong enough. :D

man, victory is sweet, and i didn't even start the thread! :D

I'm not gonna tell you what I did when I was 15, I grew up on a farm way out in the middle of no where...

We all grow up, most of us learn from it. I feel that I did.

I will admit to doing some trap shooting the other morning for a while with a Henry lever .22. It was in a safe place, in a safe manor, and I hit two first out of about 20 clays against my friends with 12 gauges. Only a couple clays hit the ground and my buddies hit about 18 of them before I could.

I felt like a tall Annie Oakly with facial hair... I did much much better with the 11-87 and the maveric 88, but hitting a couple with the Henry just felt great.

What I don't get is how we went from pretty much all youngsters going out and plinking on their own to people getting all upset and pulling their hair out over the same thing, what, 1 generation later?

That is some uber powerful kool-aid a lot of people drank.......

Um, you forgot to mention that third place is also last place since there were only 3 Teams competing!

Have to admit...that comment made me laugh.......... laughed a bit more when I ck'd it out and he is correct :D In any case, he tried and I bet he had a ton of fun, which is what its all about.

ya well, I was going for the sarcastic on that one, guess I forgot the rolling eye's smillieface to clarify. I was playing on the fact that everyone is flipping out over shooting birds, when I would bet the farm the overwhelming majority of us on this site did that as a kid, admit it or not. Not so much whether he Dean did or not, it's just amazing how quick we all forget about the little birdy skeleton in the closet.
