Just thought I'd ask everyone what their favourite plinking targets are...

I have found this metal resetting target

and have also recently tried paint balls on golf tees (found that idea on here!) and it was also alot of fun...

What does everyone else do? Paper is getting boring

i also have the same metal target as you but no pics of it:(

Soda cans - I don't consider cream soda a real/viable beverage, so IMHO there's no senseless waste in blasting cans of it apart.

Besides, they're red/pink liquids - a socialist conspiracy to poison our "vital bodily fluids" (a la Dr. Strangelove) with an overdose of sugars...

;)

I like balloons, any small plastic containers with string through hole in top filled with flour, soda pop cans of crap flavor, well shaken , for longer distances milk or juice containers filled with water. Just pack ALL the range garbage out afterwards and the range will probably allow it and be happy to have you around.

Plastic 2 litre pop containers filled with H20 for the old 30-30 with open sights @ 100 yards. They explode real good.
I also bought paintballs at CT the other day for the .22 but found them kind of hum-drum.
Always clean your targets up when finished.
We also have a full sized motor operated running deer target that we use to get the boys ready for opening day of whitetail season.

Every once in a while I pick up a block or two of ice and throw it down on the berm behind the 100-yard target line, and plink away at that off-hand with the .22, kinda fun. Gets harder the more you hit it, as it breaks into smaller and smaller chunks. No cleanup!

i'm trying to keep atleast 10 2 leaters filled and set aside but dad keeps recycling them on the day i might ad some food colouring to a couple for effect other then that noth much

have loads of junk paint balls will have to try shooting them with the 22 once i have time to sight it in

looking for a Nazi insignia target

woul;d love some military style targets have one from the m14 postal match

i eaven have an an idea for a cheap home made pop up target grins just have to figure it out

i also wanna build a siloette stand based of a buildign for the ####s and Giggles of tacticoolness i have been trying to come up with a way to automate it to but it's not bullet proof

I use pop cans, 1 litre bottles, an old alternator. And yesterday I got my hands on a small pressure tank from the cottage. That tank is one hell of a gong let me tell ya. Nice thing about it was that there were no ricochets, all the dynapoints penetrated the first side but couldn't get throught the other end. I'm leaving it out there until next weekend, then the 52 gallon gong gets set up, can't wait.:runaway:

I welded up a fancy little duelling tree out of some angle iron, some rod and some 1/4" plate steel. Makes for some very fun 2 person games.

Like those quart sized bottles filled with water hit with hollow points. Just plain fun! Also like to shoot these type of gourd when they are still green. Being about the size of a base ball or a little larger. These are filled with lots of seeds and an angel hair like pasta substance. When hit they explode FUN and bio degradable, and if they happen to be ripe enough will grow more targets for next year.

Plinking targets

Jumbo size charcoal briquets (found at Wal Mart) or animal crackers. Vaporize when hit and no range clean-up required.

My 50 yards plinking targets for rimfires

This is the real fun one and very challenging at 35 to 50 yards, must
hit inside the 3/4" hole to knock down the squirrel with airguns.
