Alright, I was one of the lucky ones who picked up one of the bargain basement 870 Wingmasters from Tactical Ordnance yesterday. In brutal cosmetic shape, but while I waited, they took it apart and sand-blasted it clean :D.

I'm ready to paint (a few fantastic threads here on the subject - thanks to all who posted in those previously :) ), and was going to to do basic black when I was possessed to consider something different.

Not thinking about anything outrageous, and not 'going green' or camo. Anybody have any thoughts about what they might do in such a situation? This is really a brainstorming session, so throw it out there, and hopefully the thread won't devolve into flame war with evryone opining about others' ideas :).

Oh, also, not going pink, rainbow, or anything else that's going get me laughed off the range :D...

Thanks for your time and thoughts!

Its not pink, its Salmon. And the salmon is a tough fish! But all kidding aside, if not black or green then I'd say desert tan or flat dark earth accented with a little matte black here and there.

Ok...so it was brutal in the cosmetic department...but I bet it was still better than an Express once you had it blasted...right?

I would do it in a tan/sand with black furniture!

I think red and black would look nice...

Fantastic stuff! :D - thanks guys. Both the serious and not-so-much! :). Laughed out loud at 'orange', 'chrome', pink vs salmon, 'nerf'... too funny :D...

And very sharp ideas sillymike, juster, f/h, fenix, saskcop & yogi05! Now I've got an even bigger problem - picking / modifying the ideas :).

The other thing that I forgot to mention is sure to bring some interesting comments: I've got a collapsible stock on the way (let the flaming begin :) ), and I have a pistol grip forearm I'm planning on taking off my Grizzly...

Doesn't leave much to paint then. At least you'll be able to buy the small cans.

For fun..... put your dark glasses on so you'll be incognito, and sneak into a michael's craft store and see what kind of pastel or powder colors they have there. Once you clear coat, it doesn't matter what paint you use, it just provides the color. The tough will be in the clear (Fenix.nz? Right?)

Maybe you can do a retro 80's pastel/neon color scheme a la Miami Vice.

I say this because I plan to do it to mine, OD green metal and black stock/pump.

This isn't mine, but I get hard just looking at it.

A nice alternative would be od green stock/pump and coyote brown or flat dark earth metal.
